Not much left in the loft. Been looking under furniture and going through piles. Got to dig more in the chicken coop. large pieces in there. Got down on the floor and looked way back under stuff and spotted a treadle sewing machine in the corner. Got to move stuff and get back there. Here is today's finds...

Todays haul.JPG

The little one I found out after much searching is Ancier"s Emulsion. Saw a pic of a severely mineralized one for $15 on Ebay. Next, two more 3 piece whiskey bottles. The tall one is a Keystone Bottling Co. Wilkes Barre, PA. Looks like an eagle sitting on the keystone. The jar is a Lustre. Nicer than the one I have on display. Tough for me to get good pics that let the embossing show.

Been pretty much through the whole loft. There are some small piles of jars to go through. Many boxes of books, but something else may be tucked inside. Then there boxes of pots and pans ('50 s stuff) To go through. In the meantime I am working up the courage to dig up the privy vault. My age 75 is holding me back.

If it were me I would haul those boxes of books home and go through them at my leisure. I would check each one on AbeBooks to see if I had a winner. I'd also be on the lookout for first editions, authors and illustrators signatures as well as bookplates that indicate they were once owned by someone notable. You never know you might find a gem.

Another good idea. The guy that stashed them died 30 years ago at 72 years. The books were his first wife's. She was a book hound and her house looked like a library. Thanks.
