I was at a huge antique and flea market at the local fairgrounds. When I spotted this , I remembered a similar one on this forum recently. Also it is from my home town where I graduated high school. Just had to have it. After a little talk got it for $3. A little scratched up, but so am I after 75 years. Tried to research Platt J. Smith and came up with nothing.

Milk bottles are great finds if you ask me, especially if you find a local. Very nice!

Nice personally relevant score! It does appear to have a mid 1930s-early 40s look to it, does it have a date on the bottom? (on older milks it's a 2-digit number for the last 2 digits of the year, often in the very center and sometimes weak so hard to see).

No Gold I was one of the people that posted a Milk bottle similar to the one you found . Milk bottle collecting is a big hobby in the area where I live . When ever there is a public sale and the seller had a Milk bottle collection it is listed in the bill of sale .The scratches are part of their existence . The delivery driver would deliver milk door to door along his route. When the bottle was empty it was returned ,washed and reused as long as it did not get damaged .All of that was 50 plus years ago . Many of them ended up on a pile with all other garbage in a family dump and have spent the last 50 years there until some one like me finds it and thinks he has discovered a long lost treasure . Mostly the value is in finding something that is local to where you live

Plumbata, yes it does. In a circle it's 3E4. Could it be 1934?

Crusty, Thanks for the research. I'll print that out and place it in the bottle.

Nice score, and for what it's worth, I believe the National Bottle Museum is located in Ballston Spa.
