Can anyone give me some info on this bottle? No writing/characters, just the radial pattern on the base.

Profile - 2R1L.jpg Seam & Texture - 2R1L.jpg
Neck - 2R1L.jpg Base - 2R1L.jpg

Thanks!!!

How high does the seam go?

The seam goes from the very top of the opening to just before the base. Can't feel the seam inside the opening.

And the inside of the opening tapers noticeably, from 0.66" to 0.5" in only 0.5" depth

That's an oddball for sure. Sorta resembles a pocket flask but too fat, or a nursing bottle but they aren't normally made to stand. And as mentioned, machine made. Strange. Maybe someone will chime in with the answer!

It looks like it's made on a European machine. I'd guess it's from the 1920s at the earliest, but possibly as late as the 1940s...

As for its use, I'm not sure. That's one big baby if it's a nursing bottle, haha. Fancy mineral water or liquor bottle might be the best suggestion so far!

My intuition tells me that this bottle was not designed to sit on a store shelf, nor was it intended to pour freely holding it in one hand. My guess is that it had a special, technical use -- like an intravenous drip bottle.

I've never seen anything with a shape like that or with a top like that in America, I'm thinking its european, possibly Canadian.

At first glance, the shape reminded me of a Saratoga "Eureka Spring" bottle, but much too chubby. The top looks like there is a seam going around it.

I noticed, during the minimal cleaning, that it was hard to fill & drain.

What a strange piece, at first glance the bottom suggested a more modern piece but looking closer it appears to have been an older BIM mold modified for use in an early automated manufacturing process.

To me it just looks like a decorative demijohn bottle but I really don't know.
