    Antique bottle show

    Anyone in the area?

Bottle show might answer your questions
    October 09, 2007
I read Sunday's article in the Mail Tribune about the bottle hunter. I've got a few old bottles, too, that I've been given over the decades. But I have no idea what they're worth, or even what they were used for. Is there somewhere I can go to find out about my bottles?

    — Lynne S., Rogue River

Timing is everything, Lynne. Medford bottle hunter Dale Mlasko says there's a show just around the corner — and just a few miles up Interstate 5.

Bring those bottles and find out whether you have trash or treasure at the 2007 Jefferson State Antique Bottle and Collectible Show and Sale, set for Oct. 20 at Seven Feathers Hotel and Casino Resort in Canyonville.

The show is sponsored by the Jefferson State Antique Bottle Collectors. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.

The best news of all? The club is offering free appraisals.

If you're in the mood to buy, for a single sawbuck ($10) you can get in some early shopping at noon on Friday. The $10 charge also gets you in early Saturday (7 a.m.).

Send questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by e-mail to youasked@mailtribune.com. We're sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.

    Re: Antique bottle show

The early show for ten bucks isn't worth it for people who know nothing about bottles! There is a lot of serious trading and selling going on in that time period.Usually the dealers are running around like crazy trying to make deals for themselves during that period. If you don't know about bottles, wait an save that sawbuck!
