Iv seen the white porcelain inserts with that same emblem, other then that not much help for ya...

Nice piece. I like Toecutter have dug several white seals but never a clear one.

The "Hero Cross"?, I think I read that it was a tribute to the veterans of the war in the States. HFJCo, Hero Fruit Jar Company, of Philadelphia. I'd guess this lid's from about 1880-1905. Here's a great picture of the factory, very cool to look at:

Yes, NJKLAGT is correct. I have a few of them. The emblem also appears on many jars.
