Any idea of what kind of bottle and the age?

I dug this a few days ago fianally got around to clean it. I am guessing its an olive oil bottle. I see the seems down the side and the bottom is neat machined stamped. I would be thankfully for any thoughts on this bottle I do occasionally find select a few to keep. thank you for looking

Syrup bottle of some kind IMO, be it maple syrup or syrup for making your own soda by adding seltzer. it's 5" also...
