Hey yāall, found this bottle in the woods over my creek. No idea how old it is what it was for. I was thinking some utility bottle, but I donāt know. Any help with age or function would be appreciated. Thanks!
The B in circle mark is for the Brockway Glass Company of Brockway, Pennsylvania. That particular mark was adopted in 1925 and used until around 1988. Initially the mark was in the centre of the base but had generally been migrated to the 12 oāclock position by the late 1970s.
At the left is the plant number (13 is for Montgomery, Alabama), mould number at the top, cavity number at bottom, and date code at the right. I donāt know what year āHā might be, but the Montgomery plant was only in operation between 1964 - November 1989. So, I think that puts the bottle between 1964 and the late 1970s.
I donāt know what it held, but it looks like a generic fruit juice bottle.
Sure enough. It seems that bottle design was introduced for Gatorade in 1967 and had been phased out by 1989. The configuration of the Brockway marks suggests it's not later than the 1970s.
Thank ya'll for the help. That is spot on in the identification, I am impressed. Didn't occur to me it could be a gatorade bottle. Didn't know they ever came like that. Thanks again!
