    Bottle Dump Worth Digging?

Hi, I'm Ted, and I'm new to bottle hunting. I probably never would have gotten involved at all, but a few months ago, I followed a tip from one of my fathers friends who runs in a local park, and discovered an old bottle dump in the park with a river running through it. When you go down into the creek bed there are bottles jutting out of both sides of the "canyon" and theres blue and green and every coor of the rainbow. As well as I can tell, the bottles and other junk down there dates from the 1890's through 1930's, and in addition to bottles there's a huge amount of china, crystal, and anything else you would expect to find in such a place.
I guess what I'm wondering is if the dump is worth pursuing - Should I be digging up and cleaning any of these bottles? I heard blue ones can be valuable so I brought a few home - there must be hundreds of blue ones alone down there. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing.
    Thanks in advance,

    - Ted

Better to dig and not find anything, then to not dig and kick yourself the rest of your life wondering, what if.....
