BH landranger /numerical read outs-how accurate?
trying to learn what my rig is telling me. can anyone give me some pointers on determining when /what to dig? i start out turning on at waist level,hit preset and get the 3 "r's" on screen ,an start swinging ! according to my rig , there's coins everywhere and haven't dug up one yet. sorry if this has been covered before , but i couldn't find that either ! still searching in n.e. arkansas. thanks in advance .

The only sure way to learn what your detector is telling you is to start digging every target and remembering what the reading said. Then start guessing what is there beeping and see how accurate the thing is. Most detectors, not just Bounty Hunters, report on what the conductivity of the target is and that can be wrong. Even a coin on an angle will give a different reading and if you change sweep directions it is different yet.

thanks for the reply sandman. have just about come to the conclusion that i'm gonna have to do just that,,,, guess there ain't no way to learn without "payin yer dues" , lol ! been reading alot on this forum, lots of good info here ,jus have to glean the tips and techniques outta out of all you guys with experience and takes those to the field .thanks again for your time to reply to a newbie.

I'll address the coins every where but haven't dug one up yet,
1) make sure your coil wire is properly wrapped at the lower shaft and not moving across your coil when you swing.
2) turn your sensitivity down, If your just getting started with this run lower and get the hang of whats going on. Later you can crank it up (when you are able to tell the difference it makes) of when it is causing you problems and false signals.

thanks for the reply sherpa t ,wire is secure, i will definitely turn down the sensitivity and give it another shot! at the rate i was going , i wouldn't be able to get outta my yard for diggin up silver quarters , half's and dollars , {i could only hope!}. thanks again.
