An hour in the field - Pioneer 202 with 4" coil

My 4" coil arrived today and despite the frigid temp, and high wind I just could not resist the urge to try out the Gold Nugget Coil. I proceede to a local park that has seen an extensive amount of hunting pressure over the years by me and many other coin shooters. I started in an area next to a pavillion which has an inordinate amout of metal trash in the ground, and was pleased to see a dime and five pennies picked out of the mess by the new coil. I the hunted along a chain link fence where I had hunted before with the standard 8" coil on my Pioneer 202, and pulled the rest of the coins out from next to the fence where it was just too close for the standard coil to be able to locate any coins. I'm pleased with the coin sniping ability of the Gold Nugget Coil, and have some more interesting tests in mind. One hour today for 25 coins at $1.27 in this cold weather were having isn't too shabby.

That coil is one of, if not THE best bargain in detecting. I think I used the 4 more than the stock 8 on my Quickdraw II. Great coil to have in the "arsenal"...
