    Nugget check on 4" coil

I ran across a small gold nugget I panned a few years ago. It is about half the size of a dried rice grain. I have it taped to a large piece of cardstock, and ran it past the 4" nugget coil hooked to my Pioneer 202. My machine gave a foil signal response, as long as this tiny nugget was touching the coil. I am greatly encouraged by this, and now am planning a nugget shooting trip to one of my favorite panning locations. I've had several dedicated gold machines in the past, and none of them did any better with this small nugget. I have yet to ever detect a nugget, but have dug bucket loads of bullets while nugget shooting, maybe this will be my time to get some of that "Yellow" lead.

    very encouraging is right SlingShot!

My new Time Ranger is on the way. Got it at a great price off Ebay. One of the first test I will be doing with it is running it by a vial I have containing about 10 flakes of panned gold. If the detector can pick this up, I plan on bring it along the next time I'm out panning.

    Here's hopen!
