    Re: BH QDII

I've got one. I don't have anything else to compare it to seeing as how it's my first, but I like it. It's easy to use and lightweight. I can swing it for hours, and my right arm doesn't feel like I've been bowling all day long. I haven't found any gold yet, but a few late date silver quarters and lots of watch faces and bracelet charms. It's a clad magnet also. Every time I go out I find a few dollars worth, eases the pain at the gas pump!
Everyone but me seems to find the gold.

Hi. I used to have one, but I sold it. It was a great detector but I did not like the fact that it is a full motion detector. I bought a Land Star for the no motion all metal feature. Obviously you don't necessarily need that feature, but it is nice to have it available. Over all the QDII is not bad. Just my 2 cents worth.

It's a great detector performance and price wise.

The only negative to me is it's lack of manual ground balance but that is a personal choice.

I love the QDII but I also added a BH Landstar to my inventory for the manual ground balance
    for when I need it.

I think the QDII is spot on with it's ID (excluding rings) though I don't look at the screen much. Mostly notice it after I dug the prize.

What I love about the QDII and the Landstar is it's Tone capability. If you listen you can definitely tell
the difference between a pull tab and a ring even though the screen shows pulltab.

Both detectors love gold and silver with a sweet tone but not so much clad nickels. Nickels give the most annoying sound.

I think Jeep has hit it dead on!

I have had mine for quite a few years and still like it...the only complaint is the ground balancing, when you get in highly mineralized soil it tends to become useless but then again I've only found a few spots where it became useless (couple of So-Cal desert areas and black sand in Guam)!

It's also quite sturdy, mines traveled the world with me and the only non-regular maintenance was a loose battery wire (my own fault) but I also keep "the brains" covered with a plastic bag when hunting in wet or salty conditions.

I feel the same. Why shuck out the big $$ (less you have nothing better to do with it) for all the extras when the bounty hunter will do the same thing
