I have a set of bounty hunter headphones and i tore the cord off at the plug so i thought i'll send them in to FIRST TEXAS and have a new cord installed.so i called customer service and they said they dont repair them.so i asked if they would send me another cord and i would try to repair them myself?they said they would not do that either?now these headphones are still in very good condition and would'nt think of just throwing them in the garbage.now is it me or is this just bad customer service?or did i just talk to the wrong person?does anyone have any ideas or suggestion?feedback appreciated-nomad 11

FIX THEM!

Go to Radio Shack, take both pieces, the headphones and the plug. They should be able to determine if they are mono or stereo. They probably know an electronics geek that can install a new plug.

Or, buy the correct part, fix them yourself. The plug should not be more than a couple bucks. Now you can pick from straight or a 90 degree plug. A small pencil style soldering iron is cheap. Use the right solder. It would be called flux core. Do not use acid core on electric anything.

Harbor Freight will have the soldering iron and solder cheap also. Talk to your buddies, some body know how to solder, it will only take 10 minutes of their time and you have headphones that work again.

In the Fisher forum, there is a thread about headphones. The owner had a similar story and he sent them back to be repaired. They wanted to charge him $45.00 for the repair, which they said was the minimum charge for any labor/repair. I think his phones needed 2 or three solder joints. Knowing what they cost new, it's not cost effective for you to deal with the manufactuer. I agree with the idea of looking at Radio Shack and having a buddy fix you up.

I just bought a set not long ago, used them like 7 times, and now they don't work! Is there a battery in them? Or are they done? I'm going to try a different adapter jack conversion piece, hopefully this fixes the problem! I put new batteries in detector, it didn't help! So I grabbed my old reliable 1970 Sound Dynamic headphones and they worked like a dream! This might be a stupid question but should I run these headphones in stereo mode or mono mode?? If I can't get them bounty hunter headphones to work, I just might send them to you, since you need a cable! The Bounty Hunter headphones work using my Pioneer stereo but not on detector, or maybe I shouldn't of used them on my stereo?
