The Platinum is a replica of the Teknetic 6000, since First Texas has bought some new companies, they are changing their machines to compete with the big boys.....

The BH Platinum was the first machine on a totally new platform about 4 years ago. It's the top of the BH line. The platform then evolved into several Teknetics products as well as the BH Gold and the Fisher F5.

The Platinum was originally introduced as a Cabela's exclusive product, that's why the user's manual posted online says "Cabela's".

Everything the poster above me said plus it is a great detector. Newer technology and programing. if you are considering getting one it is not a bad idea.
