settings for landstar for relic hunting

I am new to detecting,I recently went out with my uncle and only found iron while he found 5flat buttons,a block I and a confederate cloth belt adjuster.What am I doing wrong,I was using it in disc mode my sensitivity was about 12o'clock disc/notch was about 8 o'clock ground balance was about 2o'clock.any ideas?

Set it in notch mode with ZERO discrimination (all the way left). It will block out Iron and Foil.

Also keep your sensitivity up as far as you can without false signals and set ground balance on preset (all the way right).
