TRACKER II

I just recently bought my first metal detector, Tracker II.Does any one have an opinion or some tips I havent got a clue on where to start.I'm pretty excited to start this new hobby.I live on Long Island N.Y. I cant seem to find any info on laws or permits needed I just dont want to be in the wrong place doing the wrong thing and get into trouble.Any info would be cool.

Based on what I've read recently, I would say start on some of the school grounds around your area. Then, if it's legal, move to parks. You could also hit some of the beaches too... Welcome to the hobby and good luck with it.

Over in the Clubs and Friends section I saw this:

Long Island Treasure Hunters' Club
P.O. Box 3122
Patchogue, NY 11772

They meet at the VFW Hall on Edwards Street on the second Monday every month at 7:30 PM for those interested
