First Texas gave me a call and asked if I wanted to check it out before it hit the market - so I of course told them yes.

Ran it through some air tests and recovery speed tests...also watched it hit a penny a 1/2 inch from a nail. Thought that was pretty damn good for a kids detector that has TID as well. I will be taking it out for a live dig tomorrow and have that video by dinner tomorrow (Sunday).

Should be hitting shelves anytime now....MSRP is $89.00

Enjoy!

Think my kids are gonna love that one but my oldest complains that his detector is not as deep as mine so I only take him to modern parks now

My daughter at 10 loves this Junior...my son at 13 is just getting past his Gold Digger's capabilities and is getting something more stout under the tree this year.

This Junior TID is absolutely for a younger market who probably does not want to dig too deep.

Great review as always HGT, looks like a great beginner detector, I particularly like the 3 emogies and the simple discrimination options. It's something that they can set up without getting to technical. I may have to get one for my grand daughter.

That hits better than my early 90's radio shack detector. I'd love to be the test dummy for some of these detector companies. I'd like to get a hold of one to see what I've missed with the etrac

Thanks for the review.

All my sons' want are nurf guns this year, but it looks good for a first machine, so when their desires change this might fit the bill. :icon_santa:

What does it weigh?

For real that thing really looks like it works good. I wish I had something like that back in the 90's for a beginner detector

My pleasure man...thank you. My son went though a CRAZY Nerf gun phase....just barely out of it. Told him I'm never buying another one as he has at least 10 of them and walking the hallways = ambush at any given moment. :laughing7:

Not sure on the weight as the manual and box don't say. It is ultra light however and WITH batteries is lighter than the old Junior model WITHOUT batteries. Also it is a 7.7khz machine.

It works great. I would have loved this as a kid.
