Happy new year to all. Hopefully we all will see many coins, jewelry, relucs, and artifacts recovered in 2017. I worked an 8 hour day on Sunday and got 2 hours of detecting in. Was kinda "drawn" to an area that I've hit several times and pulled a shotgun brass! Woohoo! Turned around and swung 3 feet the other direction and the LRP gave me a 55, 50, 57 on the display. Put the shovel to the earth and recovered a 1904 IHP. What a great way to start the year!

Congrats on starting the season out with a keeper. :occasion14: I always dig lower zinc signals for just that reason.

I'm very happy with my detecting site. In the last 7-8 months it's yielded so many wonderful items and I've barely scratched the surface!

The patina on the coin is amazing and is very well preserved!

I use wooden tooth picks to get the dirt and crust off my Indians. They won't scratch the coin and get into all the nooks and crannies. To make them shine I rub my nose with a finger and then rub the body oils on the coin, it really makes them shine and is free.

Great find verbious. Grid the hell out of that site man. You have doing great with the LRP.

@Loco....I was taught that same trick when we went to Texas. Behind the ear or the side of the nose. The wife tried it on her eagle button and it worked a treat.

This makes a total of 4 Indian Head pennies and 1864 and 1874 and 1889 and a 1904 Plus the 1904 Barber dime and the large cent all in a very close proximity. It makes me curious what the gun club scraped away to put in the driveway and the gun ranges. If any of you would like to look at maps of the area it is the Elizabeth Township Sportsmen's Association zip code 15037.
