Hello all! I am wanting to get my 2 older sons ages 3 and 4.5 a metal detector. I tried the minelab go find but it is too much for them.

So now it is down to either the Bounty Hunter Jr or the Jr T.I.D. does anybody have experience with both of these machines? I can get 2 of original Jr's for the same price as one T.I.D. What are your thoughts?

The original Jr is pure analog. It is sensitive enough to hit a BB and recovery speed is as fast as a Tesoro. (damn right I said it) Depth is about an inch less that the TID on coins and rings.

TID is pure digital and has the Emojis that the kids will eat up. It is an inch deeper but will NOT pick up the BB...and has a slightly slower recovery speed.

My daughter is 10 and has both. She never touches the original any more.

Also to note...original Jr. takes 2X 9V...while the TID takes 2X AA.

I have reviews of both here....

Jr TID -

Thanks! The emojis are why I will probably end up getting the tid. A lot easier for little kids to use!
