My GF used the BH Tracker IV a few days ago to locate a buried extension cord to her goldfish pond. Took her about 20 seconds. That was of course after she called and asked me how to find it and I reminded her that her son had my old BH detector with some fresh batteries.
The way I see it that old "starter " machine/"toy" is STILL paying for itself.

Gotta' love the cheap old detectors that continue to PROVE their value. Every time her son breaks it out and has FUN using it it's paying and paying again and again.
Best 30 bucks I ever spent I think.

"Toy" indeed.
Let 'em all keep believing if that's what they wanna' do but imo, BH will ALWAYS rock despite the fact I haven't used one in a few years.
And besides, no one ever said they were the greatest machines in the world; only that they WILL find treasure and provide years of fun times.
Nuthin' wrong with that at all....
