I have been looking at detectors that are affordable, yet have manual GB. My ace 250 loses alot of depth on the beach :(
The best price I have seen is for the BH Tracker II. I have yet to find any information on its performance...It supposedly goes 7 inches max and 2 feet for larger objects..

has anyone tried it before?? any luck on beaches?? ???

tracker 2 is the only one I own, until i save enough money for a better detector. I have found aluminum cans at 12 inches, also have found an axe head at 12 inches. Most coin finds are 6 inches or less, some claim it is all you need, i disagree. the trick to the tracker 2 is learning where to set your knobs and which tones are good tones and which ones are bad. it took me about 20 - 30 hours of digging/detecting to figure out which tones are good or bad. finally, pull tabs, nickels and gold rings will give you all the same tone and large pieces of aluminum sound like pennies, dimes and quarters.
