This was a winter project...Trunk had been sitting in my mothers attic since about 1900....was totally brown with rust from the humidity....
So I hauled it home and worked on it over the winter....The roses stamped into the tin are just beautiful...After painting it, I hand painted all the hasps, metal work with pure copper paint. Now I have something to put all my plundered booty in!

I don't know how I missed this post. That is one beautiful chest. Great job on fixing it up. Perhaps you will be good enough to show us your booty sometime?

I love it! The tin is awesome!
I have 3. But nothing as nice as that, and none have any of the compart pieces.
Make sure we see it when it's done :)

Love love chest & you have made them POP even more with your touch!
On the first one . . does it have compartments as well? Curious to what selected treasures you are going to store in them for I see you have keys & are working on a Ghost Town. . correct ???

Thank You. Yes it does have compartments...like trays that set into it. I am covevering the inside was well with antique wallpaper.
I do collect old keys and recently started collecting button hooks, the pretty girly kind.
The ghost town is a work in process.
