What age is this antique wood writing lap desk?

Can anyone help with info on date/place of origin, possible maker, wood type, and design on top cover of this antique writing lap desk? There are no marking or stamps I can find.

Hi Your writing box, looks to be English made 1880 ish, lower range quality for victorian writing boxes. It is hard from the images ,the inlay on the top looks to be some form of printed(transfer) feel and not proper marquetry as in the finer boxes. The flaps look to be pine, the interior of the base looks Mahogany. The exterior looks to be a walnut veneer. There is a section that sit behind the lock for pencils (curved, concave, length, sit between the dividers, where the inkwells sit)that is missing.Click image for larger version.

    Regards Freddo.
