Then got a Garrett. Much better pointer.

Soak it in mineral oil then try again. Not too long just enough to live it some.

Tins are cool! Maybe somebody will recognize the language and know what it reads. I'm thinking Japanese but no expert here. Could you shoot a pic with something for size reference?

The sliver one RYUKAKUSAN 龍角散 it’s a fine powdered throat medicine. The company has been around for 200 years.
