which detector?!?!

I currently own a tesoro tiger shark but I want something else because I dig EVERYTHING.
Some of my choices:
Tesoro- vaquero, cibola, tejon
Fisher- F5
Garrett- AT Pro

Positives and negatives. I live in Florida also so beach and inland hunting although I could use my tiger shark on the beach and in water if need be.

Id say get the Vaquero or Tejon. Cibola has no adjustable ground balance.

Vaquero and Tejon are deeper than the others with Tejon being deeper than Vaquero. $$

Disclosure: I own a Cibola and F5.

Of the ones listed the ATP for sure. I would try to trade the tiger for a sand shark for surf detecting. I know the tiger has a saltwater setting but it's still a single freq VLF machine, and will not work as well in salt as a PI detector.

If I trade it then its only good for the wet sand right now I can use it anywhere. I kinda am more leaning towards a detector that has a screen so I can see what it is I'm getting a hit on.

Have you considered a Safari or Explorer SE Pro. They are both multiple freq machines and better choices wet salt beach sands than Tiger or any single freq machines. And really good machines inland IMO.

No I never have. I just looked at both and they sound awesome. Which is better though? I could keep my tiger shark and use when I'm in the water because its totally submersible. These 2 you can only get the shaft wet it seems.

Upon more research why are these detectors discontinued? Do I really want to buy something that there not making anymore?

Yes, that's the good and bad about ML.They roll out newer technology and discontinue older. The Etrac would be the next step, but may be more than your wanting to spend. The SE Pro is a great value IMO and many prefer it over an Etrac. The SE Pro should be supported 8-10 more years as should the Sovereign GT, which was discontinued at the same time.

The Tejons ok inland, but he's surrounded by the best beach hunting in the country. It wouldn't work well at all in wet salty sand.
