Minelab Excalibur Diving Shaft & Rod

I have a nice straight shaft for my excal for beach hunting. However it is a little too large for diving. I am debating on a carbon fiber 18" shaft either anderson or plugger. With a minelab iso rod. Would you consider this a good compact combo for diving.
