    Here's an interesting button...

    I dug this cuff size button in a Union 15th Corps camp site. I thought it was an eagle cuff until I cleaned it up. Howard College was founded in 1841 in Marion, Ala. It actually burned down in 1854 with many injuries to its students. Today it is Samford College. There is no back to the button but it is kinda cool anyway. Thanks for looking!

    The sybolism is Masonic... cross through crown (Knights Templar).

    that is a kewl button for sure

    i was very lucky this weekend, found two old navy buttons - pre civil war jobbers

    the second one i am told is 1820/30: Paymasters or Naval Surgeons button.

    hope to get back there this weekend, weather permitting
