I have no camera.
I'm just trying to Id a button I found - but I'm
Having a hard time finding pics of buttons..
Doe's anyone no a site with lots a photos or gallery.
It's a brass or copper round - acorn shaped button.
No writing that I can see...
I saw one just like it on this site but can't find it now.
It was in (What is it) or (Today's finds).
Read so many posts I think my heads going to explode..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bill
I Tried that Jim.
Saw nothing even close to it ...
Allot of sites selling buttons or fancy
jeweled buttons ...
googled images - everything...
no luck.....
I'll just wait until I get a camera.
Thanks Montana Jim.

Thanks fortbball9.
It is not and acorn button - just the general
shape of a acorn unlike a flat button.
Just a plain round acorn-ish shaped brass button.
I saw one just like it posted on this site.
I can't find it now.
I was hoping the person who posted it
or someone who saw it would reply
Thanks for the reply's.
Bill

Frankly - I'd have to go look again and see when it was posted... LOL Glad to have figured it out though!
I'll let buckle boy tell you about that kind of button as I have no history about them.

It's a ball button.
That's about all I know... Except that they were used on some CW uniform--although they were unmarked in many cases. They could be 1700s or even earlier, or they could be 1860s. Hard to tell, unless it your button has a backmark. I can also tell you that they are uncommon (although not valuable) finds. I've dug 100 flat buttons of different shapes and sizes this year, a dozen CW eagle buttons, and only one ball button.
Best Wishes,
Buckles
