    Help ID Michigan button?

    I found this button in an area where I've found coins from the 1850's and 60's. Can someone tell me what era it is from? And, what's with the back mark of just stars? Isn't there usually writing? Any help appreciated. Thanks.Dan

    Yes I would have to say Michigan Button ID# MG 4 in Alberts button book page 179.But,the ones listed
    don't seem to have your backmark.I would still say that it is around CW Era.

    I dont see the backmark in tices book either it maybe post civil war.

    The button dates in the 1870's. I don't know who made the buttons with the star backmarks but as far as I know they are always post civil war.
