    American Artillery Button war of 1812

    I found this button today and need help finding out what it is and how old. The back says STANDARD COLOUR TREBELE GILT

    Looks like a U.S. Artillery button, c. 1808-1821, quite similar to the AY 52 varieties in Albert's book, although he doesn't list that particular backmark.
    Forgotten but not gone.

    Very nice button.......Here in NY there were plenty of battles along Lake Erie and Canada. Found a few here and there.....
