Please, I need help on this one. It has Scovill mfg co Waterbury on the back and it's got small round dots all around underneith the printing. My husband said it was the Illiniois Staff Officers Button 1A in the Albert's Button Book. Can anyone give me a date? I really need your help. I dug this Sunday in a private yard. Can you post a pic of the back? If the co for company has a Capital C and small o then it is 1880's If the co and o are the same there is a chance it is civil war It is an Illinois. Most are post civil war Civil war period ones are very rare I have only ever seen one that had a definite civil war period back mark
