    The Button is 3/8 X 1/2 found in 10" deep wet sand with a bounty hunter pioneer 505

    I have no clue what the size of this button is, but it looks very early (at least mid-1700s), one piece, and cast. Is it brass or pewter?

    Yes maybe even late 1600's.
