Help Identify a button

New member here! I dug this up today in western massachusetts. Anyone have any ideas? No markings on it that I can see.

I've seen a couple of these posted here on TNet and I think it is dated late 1700's like 1780 or so. Maybe London, England. It's definately a old one :headbang:

That makes sense I guess, would put it around Revolutionary War time frame in New England. Sweet!

some guys call them frock buttons - I call them large coat
mid 1700's to early 1800's
design could be Dutch made - eastern NY - western Ma. were a lot of Dutch and they
put designs on alot of their buttons
where ever you found it - wouldwork it harder
