cool little 2-hole button

Hi, my wife found this hunting the low tide water's edge... def not plastic, it's too dense. Almost seems like it's made of shell (I guess it could be, duh) because it has a shimmery, shell-like texture.

Any ideas I'd like your thoughts!

I am think more on the lines of Native American.Try the North American Native artifact section if you don't get the answers you are looking for here.them guys should be able to tell you if it has any Native connection or not.

Its not Native American it's a shell button made from natural sea shell very popular in the late 18 and early 19 hundreds
