Does anyone Have this Book ?

American Military Button Makers & Dealers; Their Backmarks & Dates
by William F McGuinn (Author).

I need to Know if there were any Civil war Button Makers in PA
during the civil war.
In particular in Dauphin County pa.

We have someone Claiming there was a Civil War Button Factory
on their Property civil war era

but there is no proof or even rumor of this in any local histories .

1875 Atlas Says

J.P.
which I am more convinced is Justice of the Peace
there or across the street

but if the initials J.P. can be connected to a manufacturer or dealer ,
We would like this info.

I looked through McGuin's book and found tons of button makers in Philadelphia. One each in Carlisle, Lancaster, and Pittsburgh. The only thing in Dauphin County was the Pennsylvania State Arsenal in Harrisburg which manufactured buttons for the state militia from 1898 - 1902. The book did list several manufacturers that they were not able to identify their location. So no help here as to a CW button maker in Dauphin County. The obvious question is, has anybody done any relic hunting on the property to try to find these buttons?

The Land owner claims he has said no to those who ask.
all of a sudden he wants something so he come up with this offer as a trade.
for searching his property.

being there is no documented history of this.
it seems suspicious.
only odd thing, why buttons ? Why not Family Cache ? if made up.
