I'm mostly a coin shooter, but focus on older 1800's homesites in woods. Found these 2 while metal detecting yesterday. Home shows up on 1876 PA survey map. This is outside of Pittsburgh.

I would like to find out more about the first button with the GDPCo script. It was near the second button same depth. Could this first button be from a Pittsburgh CW regiment ( or company)? Or is this simply the garment logo on the button and nothing special? The back of the button is degraded/rusted with no shank or markings. Is this considered a 3 piece button?

The second one was easier to ID as I believe it is a President Andrew Jackson Victory flat button from 1829. Does anyone have info on what type of person would have this button on their coat? Military? Government? My MD hobby has turned me to wanting to uncover more of the history around the people that lived in these early home sites so any input would be appreciated. Thx!!

The Andrew Jackson button is a political button so would have been worn by a Jackson supporter.
