    Has anyone researched William Walkers campain to Sonora in 1852/3

    As I recall Walker and his men were executed after being captured. They were captured after they ran out of ammunition, weapons and money because the people bringing those items never arrived. You might find some Walker relics in Sonora but you won't find any money. The funds you are looking for were embezzled in California and formed the basis of more than one family fortune. I seriously doubt that any of it was buried or needed to be. The traitors were seen openly spending the money after the executions and before. Regards, SS
