whats a dfx 300? how does it work, what is it mainly used for?
Not everybody has brains, some really need a kicka$$ detector that does all the work!
Infact, I would reccomend some people in Tallahassee and Washington DC get a detector like that!
Re: What type of detectors are being used for Casche Hunting today
I'm using a Garrett Master Hunter with its two-coil attachment. I think it's by far the most bang for the buck. The basic setup with one coil is also a fine detector.

Master Hunter CX+ with the Treasure Hound - outstanding machine. I also use the machine with 4.5", 8.5" and 12" coils. Can't be beat for the price anywhere. KellyCo Detectors has it very reasonably priced.
Not all who wander are lost - Some of us are simply confused. (Apologies to J.R.R. Tolkein's memory)

I usually use a whites dfx with the 300 mm coil. It will pick up mason jar lid at 3 feet. If Im looking for something bigger I will use a garrett gti 2500 with the eagle eye. I am considering geting an 18" coil for my dfx & comparing it to the garrett 2 box

............I think that it depends on what size object that you are searching for!! If you are searching for a Wells Fargo Safe...............use a 2-Box or a Garrett with the Bloodhound attachment! If it is just a Mason Jar full of coins I would use my Garrett ADS Deepseeker with the large 14 inch coil..............JOE

Brian
Is that a rusted mason jar lid with a big signature and with the coil scrubbed right against the ground?
Re: What type of detectors are being used for Casche Hunting today
I use a Garrett Scorpion in the all metal mode. It finds everything and i learned the sounds of ironized ground and pulltabs so I can keep searching for the good stuff.
I use it for gold about half the time that I'm out hunting.
