Last time I checked, there were no facilities on the island--and no inhabitants other than eco. people and tourists (trekkers, snorkelers and scuba divers). I also remember something about camping is restricted to only a few areas and on only a few days each week. What is the treasure story?

Re: Mona Island
Somebody found esmerald and diamond in one of the caves in the center of that island. Never you will find good and clean facilities. The last information is you can camp there.The restriction was removed but you have to pay $10 x person x night.
Here is a link, I might be interested in going, in the spring of course, going now is sure to provide a lot of discomfort . http://www.puertorico-herald.org/iss...sFlock-en.html here is an hour or 2 old radar scan of the area

That information is not enough for a treasure hunter who is looking for relevant information about pirates caches. Go to my blogs and you will find good information about Mona and metal detecting.

I don't know if you're kidding or you're playing stupid, but reliable information regarding buried treasure you have to pay for it, surf online or buy books. Nobody here in this Forum will give you such information for free. I wouldn't.

I graduated from HCC in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1981 majoring in accounting. I am far from being stupid. Karl wrote many times the best books on treasures does not have the word treasures in it title. There are people who know about treasures, but gave up because they could not find it. I have many published stories about Connecticut but are mostly untrue, and that is why I am seeking unpublished stories about treasures in Connecticut. lovejoydc@att.net

You're right. You're far to be stupid, maybe in accounting but as treasure hunter you're making some mistakes about get information. Seems to me you're a beginner in this hobby. Stories about buried treasure are not easy to find. Who ever find it, will charge you money. When you ask the question "I want information on unpublished stories on treasures in Connecticut" the tone of your question is like pretend people here give you away that information that you looking for just for free, without pay a price. I have information that you looking for but I won't tell anything. If I live in Connecticut and I know a story about a buried treasure, "I WON'T SHARE IT WITH YOU". So simple!!
My recommendation is the following;
1. Go to Amazon.com for books
2. Go to your local Library
3. Visit Kellyco. com for treasure books
4. Surf in Google for "Pirates treasure" or "Buried treasure" to see what you find.
5. Check old newspaper.
Never forgive;
1. Ask permission for metal detecting in private property.
2. If you want to find $$$, first you have to invest $$$. Cache hunting is an expense activity. It consume time and money.
The most common mistake for beginner in this hobby;
1. To dream will find a huge Spanish treasure easily.
2. Ask question about buried treasure to others treasure hunters.
3. Leave behind empty holes when detect.
4. Give up easily when find nothing.
5. Trespass private properties.
I been interesting in searching for large treasures and searching parks and beaches in Connecticut since 1965. I am no new comer, and only interesting in Connecticut stories and not out west or beyond. Most stories published in treasure magazines are untrue.
