just updating, found a piece of pottery about 1.5',havent dug it all out yet, found some
odd pieces of metal, just about at 8", the thing is, this is going to take a lot of time, ive
only probed/md about,200 sq ft,on the first flat, ive been marking hits, but its slow ,digging and MD in a county park here is a prob, so its going slow slow
i started close to the trail and im working my way to flat 2 and the river on flat 1, prob no time to get back b4 the freeze,so will have to wait until march
i did some more research and As fam, were pretty much broke, after As wife, and the one daughter died,im guessing they went through whatever stash they had access to,trying to run the farm,b4 they sold it

the weather has been pretty good the last 2 wkds,so i went to site to probe some more
and noticed that some of my markers, were pulled out and tore down,i thought maybe
the animals had did that, but this wkend i went out and a man was taking down my fishing
line with the washers,i had attached to some trees, and he had 2 of my yellow plastic tent
stakes in his back pocket,i leaned my prob next to a tree, and went in to the wood, and asked
him what he was doing,he said he was cleaning up,yet there were to pop cans not 4' away
and a couple of plastic bags caught up in the brush close by,i went down to the river, waited
awhile, he left,i came back up to make sure he drove off, and the cans and bags were still there
i went and checked my hole i had covered, with wood and leafs and rock,it was still covered
i had found some broken pottery there, but it got to cold to look anymore so i hid it,i think
he watched me at sometime and i didnt see him,or he just guessed what the markers were for
im going back out next wknd, with a gps and mark my probed areas, and take out the rest of the
markers and im going to get dudes plate # if hes there again,i suspect he will show up again

the 1940 census online, only searchable by region, youll have to check for your
name/s,its free but if you can narrow the region/s down, you may find what your
looking for,or wait until it gets archived as searchable
