    How many...?

The Liberty head gold dollar 1849-1854, and the Indian head type 1854-1856, are the smallest gold coins I know of. Does anyone have any idea of how many of these it would take to fill a pint jar?

    Re: How many...?

It takes 900 pennies to fill a quart jar packed! that being said half that (pint jar) would be about 450 pennies. So a pint jar full of gold coins (dollar) would be close to 500 gold coins as gold is smaller than a penny. This is a start! jmho.

The average diameter of the two coins you mentioned is 13.5mm; about 75% the diameter of a dime.
So fill the jar with dimes and multiply by 1.33.
