    Any sites/legends for Southeast Oklahoma?

Hello. I'm kinda new to this but am really looking into getting serious with treasure hunting. I was wondering if anyone new of any caches or legends of lost treasure in South Central/Southeast Oklahoma, i.e. Bryan, Marshall, Choctaw Counties, etc. Also, could somebody tell me what the best entry level metal detector is? I've looked at several different brands, but I'd like an expert opinion before I buy. If anyone can help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

South Central and South East OK are suppose to be good places for Treasure Hunting. Since I live in OK I did a lot of reading and research when I first started MDing. I use to have family in that part of the country but since they moved I only go down there for the Choctaw Festival. Good luck on hunting and hope you find it all.

Pick up a book at your library or through inter-library loan by an author named Steve Wilson. I believe it's called something like 'Buried Treasures of Oklahoma' --- the author name I'm sure of. I read it cover to cover a few years back and was astonished at the number of treasure leads in the state of OK!

Re: Any sites/legends for Southeast Oklahoma?

    I'm in BLUE OK
and there is a hand made rock crossing on our place
that was used to cross the river on the way to Fort Wash........
A wagon load of gold crossing at this crossing was turned over
and all of the gold was lost.
There is also a old tradeing post on a hill over looking this crossing, with about a 60 foot deep well by the tradeing post.
The big sandy creek runs into the Blue River about 1/2 mile south of this rock crossing.
