Well Frank, I hope that you dont give the land owner the gold, and you keep the valises filled with lead slugs. Are you serious? Is that how you divide up treasure? You were so worried about his offer, that it was somehow unfair to you, now you want to just give him gold coins, sight unseen, not even wanting to look at the coins. Even Sammy can see that this idea has its flaws. Glad Im not your partner, we might have a slight disagreement with your system of dividing up the spoils.

Your drawing gives me a good idea, but I would have my cat, with a mouse in her claws, maybe you could sketch one for me!

Maipenrai. There is no way in this world that I am going to open those valises and evaluate every coin. Some will be worth $1700+ and others can be worth $30k. It would be a nightmare trying to divvy up the coins according to there value. I will just settle for a few Million and ride off into the sunset.
As for the drawings, they are from a disc of old Japanese sketches that are copy write free. I will see what I can dig up. Frank

I'm back just to see if I can get a recap. the last place I left off was franky was waiting for a nice cool breeze and a lower temp. then it slowed down to a crawl everyone was playing nice in the sandbox and trying to get to the 1K post. I'm to lazy to go read the back pages. Can anyone fill me in?

Frank, after spending months and months waiting for your snail mail reply, I would think that you should be a bit more interested in what coins you have? How can you even sell them, if you dont know what they are worth? You may be giving the op all the valuable coins, and you get the rest. What was the point of all these post, about 50/50 not being fair, now you seem to be accepting the possibility of the cut going 10/90, and not in your favor, only because you dont want to take the time to evaluate the coins.

I go through ever beach coin that I find, and im sure I have more coins that you will be finding. Mine are not even worth much, but I like to know what I have been wasting my time on.

Maipenrai, You are talking about looking up one coin! Try looking up 5k or6k of them. Why be picky! Spot face value of my share would be about $3M and that is the bottom estimate. I will have plenty of time to photograde them and look up there value in the comfort of my home. I know I have been called greedy, but I am always been willing to settle for good enough. With my casual life style, I dough if I could even burn thru the $3M.

Your comment about me is a insult. For the record, I graduated from Highland Heights Grade School in New Haven, Ct. in 1956, graduated from Tilton-Northfield High School in Tilton, New Hampshire in 1961, spend time in the Air Force, Graduated from HCC, a state college in Bridgeport, Ct. majoring in Accounting in 1981. Been a treasure hunter since 1964, being a coin collector at the same time. Therefore, I know most coin dealers are crooks and pay pennies on the dollar for treasures. As stated above, the best way to sell treasures coins is through coin auctions to receive top dollar and equal share. Read my interesting comments above. [email protected]

I think I finally found our communication problem! I did a Google map search and it looks like the property is for sale. Not positive because Google does not list the address of every house. Now I hand print-2_edited-5.jpg am wondering if the owner is still alive. Frank

Then now is your only chance to have 100% of anything located there. You can always sell it afterward and get your money back.

Check with the town hall or city hall where this man lives. If he is living, he may not want to sell to you or a higher price. Jason is correct, buy the property. If you find the treasure, do not tell the former owner of his family members or they may sue you. Good luck Frankn.

Why are you playing around on the internet, just get your tail up there and see for your self, what is going on! You talked about having time to wait him out, now he has waited you out! He didnt give two beans about your treasure story, and you have just wasted a heck of a lot of time. You have been your own communication problem, not wanting to meet face to face, and he probably figured you were in the same boat with the Nigerian scamers.
Its been a good lesson for you and for us, "how to loose a treasure". Sure, the cache might still be there, but then it may be under a strip mall, by the time you get over there.

Coming up soon, will be one year since trying to make a deal with the land owner. Thats one thing I can say for you, you sure have patience! When St. Peter calls, just tell him you are busy, and still waiting for a reply to your registered letter. :angel2:

With value of this leads cache,what i did on a site may not apply. Had an unlived in house built on a former homestead on list of leads so had to get rid
of it. Land was being offered for sale. Phone calls seldom get me on a site. Called number and spoke with caretaker who gave verbal permission on condition that i share if gold found. I was shocked to be granted permission and instead of usual counter of i get to keep container ,said of course it would only be fair. I was on site a fast as possible and a hour or so later the owner showed up with a friend. Expecting the boot, instead was told more history of site and locations of former features. I guess sometimes it works out. Another site,finally tracked down absentee owner who said caretaker might not like it. No known cache but should have asked for caretakers contact info i suppose. Phoning sale posting numbers has made contact with owners but makes it easy to say no. A hail mary play.

Try searching the area using Zillow - Real Estate, Homes for Sale, Recent Sales, Apartment Rentals , just punch in an address that's close to your spot, if you don't know the exact one. It's not hard to find any of this information online with a couple clicks, even easier if you have an address or a name. It can still be done without either, as long as you know where the parcel of land lies, which you do. I've forgotten how far this is from you (or if it was ever mentioned that is) so a drive may be just as easy if it's not too far.

Nickmarch, Your are out of touch or have not used Google Map. You pop in the address and it puts you in the road near the house. You can move from there, up or down the road. You can magnify, but not quite to read small signs. I could make out the For sale sign, but not quite read the info. Google placements are close, but not exact.
Maipenrai, I am trying to see what the land looks like. It is 100 miles away. It is cleared about 100' back from road and houses are built close to the road, but the rest of the 5 Ac lot is heavily wooded. It isn't going to be easy.
Revelentchair, After the storm passes, I might drive up and get the info from the for sale sign if it indeed on the proper address. Then call the realtor and get permission to inspect the entire property for a couple of days. From looking at the housing in the area, I would say this is a "low rent" area.
Diggummup, I will try that place, I have the address, name of owner and copy of deed and platt.
