That is a cool story, always nice to see honest hard working folks be able to move forward just a little faster in life.

to Me. These stories are both Cool & Disgusting at the Same time.
Not just because I wish it was Me :laughing7:

I like reading them, & knowing there are still Treasures out there to find.
it still Disgusts me that some of them Advertise it :BangHead:

I'd be selling it on the side.
just enough at a time to not alert the wrong people

Coulda been worse! Coulda been the remains of Jimmy Hoffa! :laughing7:

Man I wish I would be that lucky. I figure if the Catholic Church can part out Saints then why not sell Hoffa Key Chains and for the higher end collectors knife blades fashioned out of the hip.

:laughing7: A blade for the hip.....that is a visual and is funny to think of explaining that one to someone.

Shoot,,
My home was originally a 2 room cabin,,built in 1850.
When it was remodeled we never found hardly anything but old newspapers stuffed around the old window frames,,,
I feel cheated now,,,

Funny... they call it a suitcase, but it looks like a tin lunchbox. The scale is about right.

I hear you. Fortunately for them their find is in the legal sweet spot--after prohibition and before the drug money seizure craze started. About the only thing the feds could hang over them is a claim that the money was used by the commies to fund their local stooges. Just curious, but to whom would you sell it? Is 1950's era paper money collectible, and worth more than the face value? If not, and you take it to the bank a bit at a time I think the age and serial numbers would trigger IRS interest.

Me too. The least they will have to pay is the income tax. But if Big Brother can tie it back to anything they deem to have been illegal, however tenuously, they will take it all.

To paraphrase the Dos Eqius guy, "Stay quiet my friends."

Finders keepers... but I am sure Uncle Sam will find a way to tax them on it.

First mistake... telling anyone!

If you read the end, they got to legally keep it all minus taxes and found several older bills that appraised higher than face value. I would have loved to have them because I am a bill collector. This is a wonderful story.
