Gold Buried in VA

I heard a rumor of a British group who came over w a map and searched for a cache of gold and cannons. Supposedly they found nothing and went home. What was the source of this story and what were they after. I heard it was 4 cannon filled w gold coins and dumped in a grave.

Please give me some details so I can get started.

Who they were, when the story was in the post. etc ...

I'm in Fred'burg VA where exactly is this Black Forest?

This is in Va someplace. Where is Black Forest? There was an article in the Wash Post on a British group that came looking for it but didn't find it. Might have been scotish I am not sure on that. It was in the post some years ago but I don't recall dates. Not too long, perhpas 90's.

old house woods,, or haunted woods. is located near the coast of virginia.,, 5 miles from the town of mathews, or mathews court house in mathews county.....near the mouth of white creek......alot of different treasures amc said to be in this area.....amounting to several millions....
