Funny thing, I know of a guy was busted some involvment with drugs out west maybe arizona. Anyway hes still around and still buys and sells more land in two counties in southern Mo than God should allow! Catdriver, Im guessing Wayne or Bollinger county is the origin of this tale. The guy Im talking about prolly hasnt burried anything, not with all the land and business he has going on.

dealers once up the food chain a bit do stash cash --and lots of it * for several reasons

#1 --they can not put it in banks --leaves a "paper trail" -- and if arrested the govt will seize all that cash --cha ching

#2 things might go bad -- a drug war erupt with a rival group and they lose --might have to flee for their life never to return --best have money to go away and start a lil bussiness somewhere out of the way (or live off of till you can regroup / recuit new muscle and later on try to hit back and retake yer turf)

#3 you might get busted and need a butt load of cash to "buy" a crooked lawyer to pay off the judge and /or the jury to get off --( or pay "outside of you group" folks to whack witness's-- no eye witness or "rat" insider to go on the stand --often times the boss walks)

a large stash of "ready to go" cash is a big time dope dealers safety net.--- smarter big time dealers often stash $100,000 or more in several differant areas in differat directions , headed away from their "base area" of operations --so no matter which way their forced to flee theres money "availible" along the way

many of the smartest dope dealers --buy land or bussiness's --putting it in family members names * thus making a "legit" bussiness that can on paper at least produce a "taxible" income --so that the IRS can not say --uh you live in a high dollar home , drive a nice car but have no source of "legal" income and have not filed taxes showing how you support yourself nor paid taxes -- not paying tax's is one of the govts easy ways to get ya. -- by the family having "bussinesses" --you can say that your a bussiness "consultant" and get paid to "advise" your family that "owns" the bussiness's on what to do .

(thus as a bussiness "consultant" you do not actually have to "be at" the actual bussiness';s day to day * yet you still get "paid" a salary -which you then can live off of "legally" speaking tax wize . -- of course its a very very good salary you get as a "consultant "--- because of the great advice you give -- uh your "family" owns a car wash bussiness -- your wize bussiness advice -- uh be sure not to run out of car wash soap and wax )

Ivan, true but there are sooo many ways to stash cash one hardly needs to bury it nowadays. Storage units, rental propertys, greedy lawyer with a safe in his office that he doesnt know the combination to. Just to name a few. Not many smart dealers are going to risk taking the time to dig when in a hurry, besides who wants to get dirty? Lol.

storage units and rental propertys often invovle "records" -- paper trails and sometimes get broken into -- or you need a set of eyes to watch it that you can trust --in the dope buz --you really can't trust anyone frankly -- crooked lawyers when the big dope dealer gets "popped" have been known to crack open the safe and split to south america or the carribean with the dough instead of getting the boss out pf jail - by buying off a judge or jury

one thing about money that you personally hid -- you and you alone often are the only one who knows for sure 100 % where it is often --and its not easy to track it down if you were smart at all in hiding it.

Lockers do get robbed, there r crooked lawyers hell they all r! Dont put all ur eggs in one basket. but hiding money electronicaly isnt hard. Prepaid bank cards under 10g no names or records of whose $. 10 cards = 100g and so on. Dont believe me look at any gas station or walmart checkout line. No reason to bury cash, just way to easy and smart to hide it other ways.

When the Handbasket gets here, all electronic transactions will be nullified. There will be no reason to honor them. :icon_scratch:

In that case paper cash will probably function for fire starter and toilet paper .

And that is a point well taken Truckinbutch. It is also why I prefer to hoard silver.
