It's possible. I plan on exploring our entire state a little at a time to see what I can find but if we find anything really good like caches or more than one gold coin I don't plan on showing things like that for privacy reasons.

I saw a couple of guys up in northern california found 6 or 8 gold coins in a month and they showed them pulling them out of the ground and a lot of people were trying to get the location of their spot so that's why they only detect at night I guess so people can't see where they are.

Here's a place on the Kern where you can prospect. The part about dredging is out of date, still can't dredge in Californian. I've run my sluice a couple of times over there and have always come home with a little bit of color.

Keyesville: Recreational Mining

When they say you can't use dredging/suction equipment, does that only apply to powered machinery? I can make a big hand-operated sucker tube like an overgrown syringe and be a-okay, yes?

I also just found out about a place to prospect today from an older prospector. He told me about a place close to where I live that he calls 5 finger there is an old mine up there and he said he has been going up there finding gold for a while already.

So, I decided to go for a walk today without a detector or anything (Trying to work off some of that food from yesterday) and I ended up making a pretty cool find. I'll be posting it in the finds section tomorrow.
