Looking for Hunters in the Morongo Basin!

Im not a hunter, more of an armchair enthusiast but if i were to search id try the old watering holes (stage stations?) along the bradshaw trail. Dos Palmas comes to mind only because of recent discussions with someone else. before the railroad came the Dos Palmas Oasis was a place everyone crossing the desert was forced to stop at.

I get the impression your stationed at "The Stumps" if so you have access to areas civys don't. I did my MOS school out there as well as a few games. Built the original EAF out there.Ask around with some of the Ol Salts as to where they hung out or bivyed and look there. Any were there demoing old barracks or roadways may produce. Dirt roads shook a lot of stuff loose look on em.Around the watering holes (E M club) from those "crawl like a Marine" nights. In my day we were 20 to 30 to a barracks with out privacy and caching stuff was common. Off base there was a drive-in movie close to the main drag if you can find it and it's not covered over give it a look.We"d put ten guys in a truck get in and set up a beachhead (of folding chairs). Any were Gyrines are fighting wrestling or grabassin is a good place to look.The PT field too.Semper Fi and welcome aboard, Urb.

Depends on what kind of hunting you want to do.

I am more of a treasure hunter that uses metal detectors a lot. Don't do too much coinshooting or relic hunting.
