Re: Sandwagon's first Roadtrip !!!!!
Good for you!
Used to camp out there - just off the foundation, mid 90's.
Before Metal detector purchase - found an old lady's lipstick in copper, a compact, bottles and such, in the 'trash' piles.
Did you hike out to the other trestles? Lot's of debris all around the place, once you get away from the original site.
Good Luck and have fun!

Re: Sandwagon's first Roadtrip !!!!!
Hello C Meyers,
Nah I went as far as the 1st trestle and took some pixs. It was my first trip so I wanted to play it safe ( just in case ). I know the goat trestle is supposed to be close. I'm not sure how far of a hike it is.. That we be my next trip though.. I just REALLY had a blast....

Re: Sandwagon's first Roadtrip !!!!!
When you get out there again, head 'south'. There is a spring that looked promissing for some good finds (older than the R/R era).
And take a walk - there are many trestles and junk piles from when they were building the railroad.
Noticed in your one picture that they have placed a blue barrel out there for water for the illegal crossers. What a shame. Used to be quite the place to camp for peace and quiet.
Happy hunting -
