    ID Help-Precolumbian Female Figure Statue

    Hello,
This is my firs post here. I have several of what I believe are Pre-Columbian era statues, bowls and figures. I really know nothing about this area right now, my background is Militaria and Numismatics. I would appreciate any insight into the originality, culture and era of this piece.

    Thank you for your time!
    -Tim

My guess would be a Tlatilco figurine, they are one of the more common figurines in the Mexico City area and tens of thousands of them have been found over the years as one particular neighborhood was developed. The hips, round thighs, the derriere, belly button are all classic for the type.

They were probably almost disposable offerings, and had weak points at the neck, arms and legs, so the vast majority are just found like what you have.
